Affected by expectations

Yamabushi

We purposely don’t explain much about Yamabushi training before we do it. This is because the more you know about something before actually doing it, the more your experience is affected by expectations.

On the surface this may seem a bit unnecessary, but you will find with new experiences that you start comparing the experience to your expectation, rather than simply enjoying the experience, or doing the experience for the sake of doing the experience.

So, for an experience like Yamabushi training or something where you don’t need to know much in advance, I try not to know too much in advance so I am not as affected by expectations.

ENJOYED THIS? HAVE MORE.
