Character Building Moments

I remember when I was about 8 or 9 I had ridden quite far on my bike, at least the furtherest distance I had ever ridden. And of course, I got a puncture. For some reason, I can vividly remember walking all the way back home. I remember getting angry at my dad because he wasn't there to pick me up, even though he had no idea where I was, and he was probably at work at that time anyway. I just sucked it up, and walked all the way back home. In these moments, after a while you sort of forget why you are sulking because you're enamoured by what's surrounding you, especially the river near our house. I think this was one of those 'character building' moments, which is why I remember it so well.
