The future is invisible

The reason why Yamabushi wear their shime necklaces facing behind them is that it protects us from evil that comes from places we cannot see. But this isn’t to say that good will come from places that we can see.

The future is invisible. We have no way of knowing what will happen. So, first you shouldn’t worry about it, and second, you shouldn’t fear it.

I think it’s a waste to consider the future deeply, but sometimes we can’t help it. What to do in that situation?

It’s true that the invisible can bring what can be construed as negative, but if you allow yourself to see things just as they are, as neither negative nor positive, it just is, then that’s the right first step.

Thought about this way, an experience is an experience. It is neither here nor there. But the fact that you got to have the experience, that to me is a gift in itself. If you are grateful for having had the experience, you can start to see things more positively, and move on.
