‘Accidentally’ forgetting your phone

One potential solution to the modern addiction

It’s quite obvious, I’m addicted to my phone. Whenever I’m without it I find myself searching. Even when I know it’s nowhere near me I get phantom vibrations, even when I’m wearing yamabushi robes without pockets.

I need help. I need a way to forget about my phone so I can focus on what’s important. Of course during yamabushi training we don’t use our phones at all, which is absolutely freeing. But that just isn’t practical, especially when I do actually need the phone for the function it was originally built for, telephone calls.

However I did stumble across one potential solution, or at least one way to stave off the addiction for a little while:

'Forget’ your phone. Leave it in the car. Leave it at home. Leave it on to charge and go do something else. Leave it behind, on purpose. Do that enough and you should feel comfortable enough without it. In theory, at least. Worth a try for sure.
