Differences help us reflect on our own reality

Japan is always an interesting case study, because everything is just different. I think it's that difference that, at least initially, attracted me to the country in the first place. It's exactly because things are different that we start to reflect on our own reality. When you notice a different way of things to get done, you question the way you've seen things being done until that point in time. This means you think more about the mundane, and this may help you appreciate the mundane too, which is a very important thing to do as this appreciation leads to greater satisfaction. That's exactly why getting out of your comfort zone is so important too. The unfamiliar bring the familiar into your consideration, and you are forced to think whether the status-quo is good or not.

It appears I forgot to hit the publish button on yesterday's post. Fail. Anyway, I apologise for that (can I blame the Wifi and having to rush to a plane?). I'll be extra vigilant from now on.
