Distraction and the resistance

Anything that takes you away from the creative work you feel like you should be doing is a distraction. This is the resistance at work. Sometimes even productive things can feel like you are doing something productive, but they’re really not.

That’s why routine works well: ie doing something creative everyday. If that becomes a habit, it can be harder for the resistance to take hold.

Seth Godin says there’s no such thing as writer’s block. I think therefore I am. If you can think, you can write. It may not be good writing, but it’s writing at least. Make a daily habit of it, and that bad writing will one day turn good.
