Focus on the audience

When you're giving a presentation, or any sales talk, always remember that no matter what you say, if it doesn't interest the audience, it's useless. The trick is to focus entirely on what the audience wants to hear, and to work your content around that. This has the added benefit of removing your 'self' from the equation. We have a tendency as human beings to get attached to our work, but by focusing on our audience, the onus is on pleasing them rather than our egos. After all, presentations and sales is about sharing an idea with someone, their reasoning for liking the idea could be completely different to yours, but if it does interest them, then you're onto a winner. If not, consider shutting up shop and working on another idea or developing it so it does.
