How could I do that better?

Not just how could I do that, but how could I do that better?

When I started making videos, I became more attune to how other people made videos. I started to notice more of the techniques filmmakers and even tv producers used to keep the audience engaged.

Then I tried to copy them.

The things other people can do become the standard for you to follow. If you’re able to keep the standard, then that’s great, but it can only get you so far.

Take a look at how other people are doing things, try it for yourself, but don’t stop there. Build on it.

Ask yourself, how can I do this better?

And you know what, sooner or later, you start to see your own work as the standard. And this sets you on a perpetual improvement machine.
