I didn’t ask for this

I love phrases that can go either way, and ‘I didn’t ask for this’ is one.

Usually I didn’t ask for this has a negative connotation, a response to an unexpected bad result.

But ‘I didn’t ask for this’ also has a good connotation; when you are pleasantly surprised by something someone does for you again unexpectedly.

What could you do to get the second response? How would the second response make you feel?

Provide generosity without expecting much in return, and you get what you ask for.
