If you have an idea, it's imperative you put it out into the world. Not only will it help you improve by giving you the chance at hindsight, the chance to reflect on your past work in future, it also gives the world a chance to react, and for you to subsequently use that reaction in future. If you do it regularly, you'll have even more chances to see room for improvement, and even more reactions from the world on which to help you improve.

Another piece of advice I'd give, is to always give your best in what you do. Every single time, it should be the best that you can do at that point in time. That's the only way you can truly know how far you've come, and where you're at. But don't get up in the perfection rat race. Set a periodic time in which to release stuff and stick to it. Imperfect but out in the world is much better than aiming at perfection first.

Watching my Horagai video, I can think of 100 things I would do differently. Music added, change the exposure on the opening scene, less editing of the talking, more practice at what I'm going to say, more accent shots, the list goes on. And from this the important thing I can get is that, I'm really glad I shipped this video! I'm really glad I put it out into the world, because now I can look back on it and see where I can make improvements. If I hadn't put it out into the world, I'm not sure how beneficial this hindsight would be. Another important point is that I got to gauge the reaction of the audience, which wasn't much if I'm being honest, but there were enough hints there for me to work on different points in the future.
