Mental health days

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

When I was a kid my mum used to give me ‘mental health days’ because I never got unwell as much as my brother and sister. It was basically an excuse for a day off school, and it’s probably because I felt jealous (and let it show) that I had to go to school but they didn’t.

In any case, taking time off for yourself is so important every once in a while. It doesn’t have to be a whole day, even just an extended lunch would do at times, but making a conscious effort to give yourself permission to do nothing helps to maintain your freshness and productivity overall.
