Practicing Patience

Probably the simplest, but not easiest, way to practice patience would be to teach someone something that they don't think they can do. You have the added challenge of motivating them, which is no easy task. In fact, I would say that is my hardest task in being a teacher at a university in Japan. It takes communication skills and experience to really connect with people. And it takes time and patience to build these skills and gain the experience. That means you have to be patient with yourself. And then, you have to understand what you are trying to teach the other person. It takes patience to learn these things. Then, you have to teach it to them in a way that they will understand. This almost never works the first time, so you'll have to try again and again. But don't worry, once you get through to them, your patience is rewarded. Your patience is always rewarded.
