Stay in the now

With sheet music you can only see so many notes ahead while you try to play. If you try to look too far ahead, you lose track of your current position. If you make a mistake, it’s no use looking back on it, you keep going, again only seeing a few notes ahead.

And then of course there’s improvisation, doing what feels natural to you in the moment. Not limited to certain notes, and living free. Living in the now.
