Shipping quality

Saturday night live is famous in that every Saturday it goes out no matter what. This is a remarkable feat, and it’s something we should endeavour to emulate, a deadline that is just short enough to be motivational, and just long enough to produce good content.

From yesterday’s post, I’ve come to the conclusion that the video content I make should be made with a balance of quality and frequency. In other words, it’s about finding the frequency you can do that brings about the most quality and content overall.

One potential problem with this thinking though is that if you’re a perfectionist, which you should try to be, you can get caught up in the quality at the expense of shipping. So I guess you have to find the frequency that you can keep that keeps things interesting, and you have to stick to it.

Which is to say, once a month is probably doable. I think I’ll give it a try.
