Stay in the game

The aim is to stay in the game for as long as possible. If you’re not in the game, the only thing you can do is judge. If you’re in the game, not only can you judge, you can make changes to the game to benefit all.

On a similar note, even though I’ve hardly been using YouTube recently, when I do use it, I notice myself not wanting to watch videos because I’m jealous of the creator having made them. Jealous in the sense that I too could make something like that (not yet, but maybe someday). I watch them anyway with intent, to try and find techniques to emulate and eventually incorporate into my own work.

I see this as not only watching for pleasure, watching to learn. Recently YouTube has started to become like gaming to me. It’s fun for a little while, but then I get antsy and feel the compulsion to do something else, create something even. Maybe YouTube can be a motivator in that regard too.
