What have you got to lose?

Language is one of those things that takes a long time to learn, but you can supercharge your learning quite easily. By all means, go to a language school, just don’t expect to learn everything you need there. If the curriculum was designed for the individual, it would be great, but nine times out of ten it isn’t.

Instead, supplement your learning by cramming a whole lot of vocabulary and grammar study, then get as much practice of that in real life as possible. Experiment as much as you can, get as much exposure as you can, and do it as fast as you can.
