The blame game: your ego in disguise

‘If something happens, it won’t be my fault.’ Well actually, it will be. Doing your best means you convince everyone to do the right thing to achieve the right outcome.

If the right outcome isn’t achieved, a mistake is made, or it’s felt that a better job could have been done, look to yourself first before pointing the finger.

The blame game is a disguise for your ego. We blame others to protect our own reputation, and for our own survival at times when a judgment call is to be made.

Accept some responsibility as a team member, but don’t let things drag you and your team down. Immediately propose some remedies, and even start taking action on them if you can. Look at the now, and then move on. No need to blame.
