The first stage in development: writing

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

Yesterday I read something insightful that I hadn’t thought about in regards to writing daily. Basically, most good ideas start out in written form; books, films, stories, music even, starts out in written form, and from there they can be developed. Then, having your ideas out in written form means you can more easily work with and on them.

If you’re in the practice of writing daily, sure you’re going to have a hell of a lot of perhaps useless stuff, but if you have volume, mixed in there would be a hell of a lot of great stuff that you can work with. Either way, it starts by having these ideas in written form (depending on the media there may be exceptions), and it’s a great practice to have, especially daily, to clear your mind, and maybe discover something special.
