Time will tell

We all know the phrase time heals all wounds. Honestly, I have found that to be the case for a lot of things. While time may not heal all wounds completely, it does go some way towards giving perspective on what can in the moment be an extremely harrowing experience.

Working back from that logic, if you’re in a harrowing situation, even one as severe as the current pandemic, you should take solace in that it won’t last forever. And even things that do last forever, we have the uncanny ability to come to terms with them more than what might seem possible in the moment.

Which is to say, sometimes it pays to take a long-term perspective on things. When viewed over the long term, even big things today can seem insignificant, and you feel like a fool for paying them so much attention. Just let time take its course, and get on with it.
