Try to make an unbreakable streak of it
You forget the importance of exercise when you don’t do it for a while. I hadn’t swim for six months, I think I wrote about it last week, but now that I’ve been back at the pool, my mood is much better and in general I’m more relaxed.
It could also be because the amount of work I had has finally become more manageable, but the exercise definitely helps. If only I could force myself to not get stuck in a rut of not doing it!
That’s the importance of creating habits and rules for yourself. Even when you don’t feel like doing it, you have to somehow force yourself to, even just a little bit.
It’s much easier, and better for you, to sustain a streak than it is to let the temptation not to exercise get to you until it stops you from going because it makes it that much harder to start again!
