Use this Yamabushi trick to stop procrastinating

Use this technique from Yamabushi training!

Recently when I find I’m procrastinating, which happens a lot more than I’d like to admit, I’ve started to try and get myself out of it by doing the last part of the ritual we do to warm up for waterfall meditation.

This last part is not difficult, all you need to do is make a fist and bring it down in front of you while shouting out ‘ey’ or something similar.

The ritual we do before waterfall meditation is like the All Blacks’ Haka. It’s meant to psyche ourselves up to give us the motivation needed to complete the waterfall meditation successfully. Waterfall meditation is tough, but this ritual helps us get through it, and all it takes is a bit of psyching up.

So I try to channel that energy into getting myself out of a funk, and to psyche myself up so I can get some work done for once! So far it’s working, but if it stops working, well, I might just have to find me a waterfall.
