Are you keeping to your mission?
When you’re able to choose the job you want to do, what will you choose to do? I’ve recently been doing jobs that in hindsight, I could have done without. Of course I enjoy getting paid for it, but it’s almost as if I’m doing it just for the money.
This isn’t true, of course, because these are jobs that I’m rather suited to (there probably isn’t anyone who can translate Dewa Sanzan Yamabushi things as well as I can, given time constraints of course, with enough time a good translator will be able to, but I’ve got a lot of experience that people don’t have that they’d need to have a basic understanding of to be able to do an effective translation).
But, I have a mission, to help more and more people through Yamabushi training, and these tasks are only loosely related.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Tim Bunting AKA the Kiwi Yamabushi, a New Zealander who became a Yamabushi Ascetic in the Dewa Sanzan mountains of north Japan. I’m part of the Yamabushido team, and we host life-altering Yamabushi training on the Dewa Sanzan (website link). People come to us for the ultimate mindfulness experience, to reach the next level, or simply connect with nature and themselves.
I’m on a mission to summit all 100 Famous Mountains of Yamagata Prefecture to spread the splendour of this fabulous location, and in dedication to all those who lost their lives out in nature, including my father.
On my daily blog I post thoughts of a practicing Yamabushi that I hope people can use to better themselves and live as fulfilling a life as possible.
