Conservatism

Conservatism is selfishness. I don't mean conservatism in that environmental sense. I mean conservatism in the political sense. If conservatism is about keeping the status quo, then it is about selfishness. Keeping the status quo means you are not thinking about the future life for your children. You are only thinking about yourself and now. This is especially evident in Yamagata prefecture. People here just want to keep things the way they are. This completely ignores reality. Japan is in the middle of an aging society. This means things are going to change whether you like it or not. If you don't act for the future someone, or something, will. Conservatism means you are leaving everything up to fate. I am of the belief that we should do everything we can to provide a better future for our future generations. Conservatism does not do this. Conservatism is selfishness.
