Do it for the future you
Build a flow that is focused on future benefit, in whatever form that may be; happiness, life satisfaction, heck, money even fits into this. For anyone who has read anything by Robert Kiyosaki, you would know about the concept of cashflow (great boardgame by the way), but the idea is to have more money coming in than is going out. This is a simple idea, and I like to think of it in terms of creative output, or productivity as well. Which leads me to the main point. Your flow should be designed so that future you benefits from current you. I know in Zen and in Yamabushi philosophy we put all our focus on here, now, self, but if you orient your here, now, self to work for future you, you can’t go wrong.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Tim Bunting AKA the Kiwi Yamabushi, a New Zealander who became a Yamabushi Ascetic in the Dewa Sanzan mountains of north Japan. I’m part of the Yamabushido team, and we host life-altering Yamabushi training on the Dewa Sanzan (website link). People come to us for the ultimate mindfulness experience, to reach the next level, or simply connect with nature and themselves.
I’m on a mission to summit all 100 Famous Mountains of Yamagata Prefecture to spread the splendour of this fabulous location, and in dedication to all those who lost their lives out in nature, including my father.
On my daily blog I post thoughts of a practicing Yamabushi that I hope people can use to better themselves and live as fulfilling a life as possible.
