Don’t sit on it
If you have an idea, it’s not yours. The idea belongs to all of us. Of course you can and should take credit for it, but you have to get it out there.
Often when we have ideas we imagine how things will play out. We have some sort of image in our heads of what it will look like. But when you put your idea out into the world, you start to notice a few things that need changing, a few improvements, and a few criticisms as well. This only comes about through fleshing out your ideas, and it makes them better for it.
If you sit on your ideas and let them fester, sure they might evolve into something better, but what is that something better worth if it isn’t out in the world?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Tim Bunting AKA the Kiwi Yamabushi, a New Zealander who became a Yamabushi Ascetic in the Dewa Sanzan mountains of north Japan. I’m part of the Yamabushido team, and we host life-altering Yamabushi training on the Dewa Sanzan (website link). People come to us for the ultimate mindfulness experience, to reach the next level, or simply connect with nature and themselves.
I’m on a mission to summit all 100 Famous Mountains of Yamagata Prefecture to spread the splendour of this fabulous location, and in dedication to all those who lost their lives out in nature, including my father.
On my daily blog I post thoughts of a practicing Yamabushi that I hope people can use to better themselves and live as fulfilling a life as possible.
