Every Uketamo a chance to grow

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

During your time on the mountains with the Haguro Yamabushi, multiple times you will be required to say ‘Uketamo’.

Uketamo isn’t a word of tolerance, nor is it a word of harm. Uketamo is a word of accepting the current moment you are in, and looking to push things forward.

The constant repetition of Uketamo is because in order to push things forward, we need to accept our selves in that moment, but that we also need to do this multiple times so that it can lead to growth.

Every Uketamo, is your chance to accept the moment, and your chance to push forward and grow.
