Expand your reservoir

The bigger your reservoir, the more you can take in. You can expand your reservoir by talking to new people unlike yourself, trying new things, and going to new places (either fictional or otherwise).

The key here is new. If you spend time with people who have the same thought patterns as you, you can only expand your reservoir so far.

People with the same ideas share a collective reservoir. It’s impossible for new ideas to form in this situation. Someone has to expand the reservoir.

Expand your reservoir, and you expand the potential for new ideas and innovation. You expand the potential for progress.

Right now we are limited in the ways we can expand our reservoir in some aspects, so we have to think, in what other aspects can we expand our reservoirs?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hi, I’m Tim Bunting AKA the Kiwi Yamabushi, a New Zealander who became a Yamabushi Ascetic in the Dewa Sanzan mountains of north Japan. I’m part of the Yamabushido team, and we host life-altering Yamabushi training on the Dewa Sanzan (website link). People come to us for the ultimate mindfulness experience, to reach the next level, or simply connect with nature and themselves.

I’m on a mission to summit all 100 Famous Mountains of Yamagata Prefecture to spread the splendour of this fabulous location, and in dedication to all those who lost their lives out in nature, including my father.

On my daily blog I post thoughts of a practicing Yamabushi that I hope people can use to better themselves and live as fulfilling a life as possible.
