Going against the grain and following orders

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

If it's true that when you go against the grain, when you do the opposite of what everyone says you should do, that you have to take responsibility when things go wrong, the opposite should also hold true. When you do exactly what everyone else does, when you simply follow orders, this doesn't mean you don't have to take responsibility when things go wrong. You have responsibility for the outcome either way.

If the result of going against the grain is the same as the result of following orders, and going against the grain is the only way to innovate, why do we all so easily follow orders?

Be unconventional. Experiment. It's the only way to innovate. It's the only way to grow.
