If only you knew

If only they knew what you knew. If only they’d seen what you have seen. Then they would understand.

Or would they?

Even having the exact same experiences we all come out with different perspectives. Our perspective going in, and our perspective going out, all contribute to how we experience things. Having someone know what you know, or experience what you experience, still won’t help them understand how you feel.

And vice versa.
