Leaving things up to chance

Don't do it.

I'm about to embark on a journey. It's a journey I've done multiple times, only this time it's different. This time it's the same journey, only with a new leader.

That in itself is enough to excuse ill preparation. I could do minimal preparation and then at the end say 'it's ok, it was my first time'.

The thing is, this could potentially lead to trouble down the line, trouble that could have been prevented if I'd only done enough preparation.

Always put your best effort into whatever it is you're doing. Leaving things up to chance is a surefire road to dissatisfaction. Don't leave yourself with regrets that could have been prevented. Don't leave things up to chance.
