I’m convinced the only way to get good at a second language is by making it a point of pride. Language acquisition takes years of self-motivated effort. You’re fooling yourself if you think you can learn it in class alone. That is putting the onus on the teacher. No, attaching the acquisition of language to your pride is the way forward. Only then can you be motivated enough to do what is necessary to acquire the language.

I think it’s fair to say this for language learning, now start making sure your other goals are a point of pride.
