Mindful of the moment

Lotus flowers

Make being in the moment a big part of your every day to help keep you grounded, awake, and to help deal with stress. We need daily reminders of our existence, otherwise we go on automatic mode and our minds can take us to unhelpful places.

By doing things that make you mindful of the moment, in a way it can be a reality check. What can be good for this? Things that force you to be in the moment, or things that force you to lose yourself in the experience. Meditation comes to mind, but also things like making art, photography, making pour over as opposed to instant coffee, or things like walks out in nature. Some of these things are a vocation for some people, who are already doing things on a daily basis to put them in the moment. For those don’t have such a vocation, it would be helpful to practice these things.
