Opportunity cost

Holding many positions always comes at a cost. An opportunity cost.

I'm in a position where I can potentially make a lot more money by doing more translation, but it would cut down my time for other projects with less chance of fruition. Perhaps in this case I should think of the best case scenario.

Translation is work I enjoy, and it's something I would feel ok doing more of. The issue is with the other projects I've gotten myself into. I want to dedicate more time to them because they value the community much more, and there is potential for good opportunities in the future if I follow this method.

I'm also thinking more and more of doing more things to express myself, such as a video series or a different blog, but that is totally doable while doing translation.

See, you can't think of things simply in terms of how much money is in it. Money you can always earn more (well, barring the extraordinary). I have to decide where I find my satisfaction, and from reading this I think it's safe to say that money is all but a small part of a much bigger equation.

In other words, I need to either find or determine my main motivations if money isn't one of them.
