Play your own game

Beware the comparison

It’s easy to compare ourselves with people like us. People who had the same upbringing, people in the same demographic, people in the same psychographic.

But we’re all different. We’re all born differently, and we’re all brought up differently. We all live according to different values, and different views.

If we weren’t, life would be too predictable and plain boring.

It’s the difference that makes things different. It’s the difference that makes things unique.

This is exactly why it’s futile to compare others as well. It’s why any comparison of you, even by someone close to you, should be taken with a mountain of salt.

It's not a level playing field. It never was. It never will be.

Play your own game. Mind others as much as they come into your game, but don’t compare yourself to them. They’ve got their own game to play.

The game's not over yet.

Not even close.
