Release the rock

Take in what’s important

I was once talking to a Zen monk who told me a story about a rock. Except, it wasn’t much of a story.

He said:

If you have a rock in your hands, how are you going to be able to accept anything else?

The point: get rid of the rock. Only then can you take in what’s truly important.
