Slow is steady

Tim Bunting AKA Kiwi Yamabushi on Zao-san

Steady is fast

Slow is steady, steady is fast. This isn’t just a useful mantra during times of emergency, but also during high stress moments. Remembering this mantra helps you deal with the panic that accompanies stress. The panic that makes you rush, which only increases the panic. Reminding yourself to keep slow, and that slow is actually more effective, breaks the pattern of panic the stress causes.

Slow is steady, steady is fast. Remind yourself when things are getting a bit rough, and you’ll get through better.
