Standards and Boundaries

brown wooden arrow signed

There are boundaries to your standards.

Setting high standards for yourself is a prerequisite, it’s how we ever get anywhere. If you’re disappointed in your current self, or in your current situation, it means you need to be stricter on yourself. You need to give yourself more concrete boundaries, and to stick to them.

But at the same time, there are boundaries to your standards. You can’t blame yourself too much when you fall short. You did the best you could in the situation, there isn’t much else you can ask for. All that’s left is to set new standards, and start again.
