Sub-standard, but something

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

If your best at the time is sub-standard, should you still put it out there?

Yes. Yes you should.

Only by putting it out there can you gain feedback that allows you to improve, that allows your best to be better. The creative process itself teaches you what to look for as well. Keep this up and sooner or later, your best will become the standard.

It’s your best at that point in time, no need to get worked up over not meeting the standard. Just do your best to meet the standard next time.

When you do get feedback on it, be thankful for it. I know it’s hard to receive a critique, but nine times out of ten it’s coming from a place of genuine concern for your work.

Sub-standard but something is better than sub-standard but non-existent.
