The Itch

Emotions are like an itch

Every time you get an itch, you know to stop. You know that if you scratch it, it’d only get worse. You know if you’re able to stop yourself from scratching it, you can stop it compounding and it would cease to be a problem.

Every time an emotion hits you, you know to stop. You know that if you let it get to you, it’d only get worse. You know if you’re able to stop yourself from letting it get to you, you can stop it compounding and it would cease to be a problem.

This is how we should view emotions. Like an itch. Some of course we should scratch, but some we need to just leave them be so that we aren’t reacting to them rashly.

The itch.
