The ‘wrong’ route

Over the years I’ve built up a pretty intricate knowledge of the local road system, and I think I know it pretty well. So when I’m trying to get somewhere, I obviously try to find the quickest route. But sometimes, what you think is the quickest route isn’t because of unexpected things like road works and traffic. At those times, is it fair to blame yourself for getting it wrong?

At the start, I feel stupid for having taken the ‘wrong’ route. But then you were just doing the best you could with the information you had on hand. That’s the best you can hope for, no point worrying about whether things could have gone differently. And especially for things finding the fastest route, if you get upset over something like that, it can be quite dangerous. Best to just let it be and to live with the decision that’s already been made.
