Stuck in your creativity? Try Third-person thinking

How to get through the resistance

Say you’re a stuck video creator or a writer. How would you see a creator you admire approaching not only individual pieces, but your work as a whole? How could seeing the world through their eyes change your work for the better?

Third-person thinking is taking a problem and trying to see it through not only your eyes, but the eyes of someone more able than you. Or at least someone perceived as so.

While you may not exactly be able to emulate them, at the very least you should be able to see a different approach to the same problem. By looking at the problem this way, you could even ask yourself whether a solution exists in the first place.

Better still, it’s still your work, although you will need to be careful to maintain your own style.

Give it a try the next time you’re stuck!
