This post is anti-yamabushi

So is any writing, really.

If you’re reading this, does that make you anti-yamabushi? It does if you’re in yamabushi training. As Master Hoshino reminds us, reading means you aren’t focusing on the moment. Sure you may be focusing on something right in front of you, but is that the current moment, or something someone recorded for future (i.e. not now) use?

In the same vain, me writing this is very anti-yamabushi. I’m not living in the moment and I’m writing this for someone’s future reference. Does that mean I’m anti-yamabushi? It would if I was in yamabushi training. But I’m not. So it’s ok. But it is a reminder that if you’re busy trying to record or otherwise see a record of something, you aren’t focusing on the now, and you should probably get back to doing that.

Right about now.
