Unpredictable, Unorthodox, Uketamo

Tim Bunting AKA Kiwi Yamabushi on Zao-san

As much as we hate to admit it, we are entering increasingly unpredictable times. Yet unpredictable is only a bad thing if we let it be. The problem lies when you are either unprepared or unwilling to change along with the unpredictable. Not only is the predictable boring, in an increasingly unpredictable world, it sets us up for failure.

By definition, orthodox means doing things by the book, doing things the way they have always been done, doing things the predictable way. In this day and age, that book may well as be unwritten.

This is where being unorthodox comes in handy.

Practice being unorthodox, and when you are forced to change, the blows don’t come as hard.

Unorthodox is dexterity. Unorthodox is flexibility. Unorthodox is taking the blows as they come, but at the same time, seeking ways to push forward.

Unorthodox is Uketamo (acceptance to the core) by stealth.

Unorthodox is the way forward.
