Water needs to be embraced

underwater photography of swimmer

There's no two ways about it. If you're going to swim, you have to get used to being in the water. The sooner you can embrace the water, the sooner you can be able to swim well.

Starting from childhood is quite possibly the best way to do it, but if you don't have that luxury, it's on you to get out there and get into the water.

I've watched countless people flail their arms about while their legs are dragging. However, if you understand how the water moves, or more specifically, how you move through the water, then you understand that it's not about fighting the water, it's about moving with it, and letting it help you get to where you need to go.

Water needs to be embraced, only then can you harness its power.
