What’s the most important thing we have? How to make the most of a moment
Pinch yourself.
Do you feel it?
What about now?
Do you ever just stop to take everything in? Do you ever just stop to check that you’re in the moment? Do you ever find yourself fully aware of the situation and wanting to make the most of it?
You should. With all that’s going on it’s easy to get caught up in a different reality to the one going on in front of our eyes.
Now is the most important thing we have. It’s our everything. And it needs to be treated as such.
That’s why meditation and Yamabushi training is so powerful. Everything is designed around putting you in the moment, the most important thing there is.
And if you practice being in the moment, all it takes is a metaphorical pinch to get there. That’s all it takes to be able to make the most of a moment.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Tim Bunting AKA the Kiwi Yamabushi, a New Zealander who became a Yamabushi Ascetic in the Dewa Sanzan mountains of north Japan. I’m part of the Yamabushido team, and we host life-altering Yamabushi training on the Dewa Sanzan (website link). People come to us for the ultimate mindfulness experience, to reach the next level, or simply connect with nature and themselves.
I’m on a mission to summit all 100 Famous Mountains of Yamagata Prefecture to spread the splendour of this fabulous location, and in dedication to all those who lost their lives out in nature, including my father.
On my daily blog I post thoughts of a practicing Yamabushi that I hope people can use to better themselves and live as fulfilling a life as possible.
