When consideration isn’t consideration

Here in Shonai, people often stick to one lane when they drive, knowing that up ahead the lanes merge. This is fine, except sometimes they do it a bit too early and you get one very long line of cars in a two-lane street.

Now, this is ok for me, because I just go in the other lane and it's an easy overtake if you can time the lights. But the problem is when you are travelling the other direction, and you have to wait for this line to pass before you can make a turn.

Being considerate of your own lane is a good thing. But don't get too caught up in maintaining order in the lane. There are other lanes to consider.
