Where’s the lightning?

Apparently when humans first made fire, they were afraid of it going out. What this meant was, they let the fire burn and burn and burn, for thousands of years.

We were saved by lightning, giving us the proof that we could always start a fire.

There are some things we do that we are afraid if we stop, we'd never get to do them again. Sometimes that's our only reason for continuing doing them too. But remember, there just may be some lightning around.

As a side note, last week during Yamabushi training, we were on top of Mt. Gassan when a thunderstorm rolled in. It was scary, and as I was at the back of the group, a spent a bit of my time crouching down so I wouldn't get hit. Turns out everything was all good, and the more harmful thing came from the rain that hit us at force, it felt like being stabbed. That was a real lesson in the forces of nature.
