Who’s to blame?

My five year old niece is going to have to learn the hard way sooner or later. We were playing volleyball, where I would set the ball up for her to hit back to me. Only every time the ball didn’t go the way she wanted it to, I heard ‘Tim, I thought I told you to throw it straight’.

It gets annoying, and when it happens over even the slightest thing, when it was clearly not my fault, it makes you want to say something. Perhaps I should have said something, but it was too much fun seeing how much she believed the words coming from her mouth.

Isn’t it funny how we try to put the blame on others, even when we are clearly at fault? Better to think twice about who’s to blame when you’re pointing the finger, especially when the stakes are higher than volleyball with a five year old.
