You won’t die, so it will be alright

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

This may sound a bit morbid or scary, but a lot of the time during yamabushi training, you start to tell yourself 'you won't die, so it will be alright'. I think this is one of the important points in understanding uketamo, the Dewa Sanzan yamabushi philosophy of acceptance. You could probably compare this to 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger', which I do think is true, but there are a lot of things in life that we have to do that we might not like or want to do, but that won't kill us, so it will be alright.
