A matter of perspective

When you wish for things to be the way they were, or for things to be not the way they are, what you get in reality could objectively be called better. Equally, it could also just be called different.

Whichever you choose is simply a matter of perspective.

(Now there are tons of things that objectively could make things better for us humans. No poverty, no war, no disasters. Etc. I’m not talking about that here.)
